From the Deacon

Welcome to Our Lady of the Lake Episcopal Church in Laguna Park, Texas. We are a fun, faithful, energetic, loving, nurturing, caring body of persons whose mission is to bring the love of God in Christ to all we meet, not only in our church life, but more importantly, in our daily life, whether that is in the marketplace, schools, on the streets, in our homes, in hospitals, jails, or nursing homes - wherever there is a need.

Through our commitment to Jesus Christ and his call to love those around us, we seek to serve Him through worship, pastoral care, educational ministries, evangelism, mission life, and outreach.

We participate in community sponsored activities such as Food for Families and Crop Walk, as well as the Child Protective Services drive for stuffed animals. We are pleased that we have been able to help with the Salvation Army Kettle Drive in December and their summer camps program in June and July.

The members of Our Lady also bring a program of caring and sharing of worship and friendship into nursing homes in Clifton and in Whitney; and we collect food for the hungry through a program called Canning Hunger for the food banks in Clifton, Meridian, and Whitney. This is a program which goes on throughout the year - not just at Thanksgiving and Christmas because hunger is a year-round need.

Our Lady has a very active intercessory prayer group, an organization called Daughters of the King. This group prays at the drop of a hat - or at the request of anyone in need.

You are invited to worship with us on Sunday and Wednesday, help us to minister to others in need, or just fellowship in an atmosphere of love. May we pray for you?

From the Vicar...

Thanks for visiting our web site! Now come worship with us at Our Lady of the Lake Episcopal Church!

We worship our Lord in a traditional Anglican fashion as members of The Episcopal Church in the United States of America. We focus on the Sacraments of the church receiving nourishment from Holy Communion every Sunday and Wednesday. We receive the assurance of God’s forgiveness at these celebrations of the risen Lord. We receive the blessing of His healing touch in our healing and laying on of hands every Wednesday.

Twice a week we offer Adult Bible Study. Sundays at 10:30 AM we study the books of the Bible, learning and discerning what God has revealed to His people through His word. Wednesday our study is on various topics learning what God says about each weekly topic. Before our study and after Holy Communion we break bread together with a simple sack supper from our homes. We raise up our children in faith through their own simple service in the parish house during the first half of our 11:00 AM service. The children then join the adults for the conclusion of our services.

In addition fellowship is offered at various programs and events through out the year. For Jr. High and Sr. High students we have our EYC program as well as diocesan wide events through the youth council and renewal events offered through the Episcopal Center for Renewal.
